We do not sell your personal information
OmniSubs does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). There is therefore no opt-out form on this page — we have nothing for you to opt out of.
Categories of personal information we collect
We collect only what is required to operate the service:
- Identifiers — email address, name (if provided), and the account username you choose.
- Commercial information — credit purchases and usage records, handled through Stripe.
- Audio you upload for transcription — processed in-browser into short audio chunks that are sent to our transcription service provider and immediately discarded after the response.
- Internet or network activity — basic server logs (IP address, timestamps, user agent) kept only for operational security.
Service providers we share data with
These providers process data on our behalf under written contracts. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes:
- Payment processor — handles credit purchases, subscriptions, invoicing, and refunds.
- Authentication, database, and object-storage provider — hosts accounts and subtitle files.
- Speech-to-text transcription provider — produces text from uploaded audio.
- Machine-translation provider and federated identity provider — translates transcripts and powers optional social sign-in.
- Application hosting and content-delivery provider.
Your rights
California residents have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information, and the right to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Users in the EU/UK have similar rights under GDPR. You can make any of these requests from your account page or by emailing the address below.
