Bernardo Bertolucci's visually stunning drama explores themes of spirituality and reincarnation across cultures. The film follows a group of Buddhist monks who travel to Seattle, believing a young American boy might be the reincarnation of their revered lama. Intertwined with this modern-day quest is the epic tale of Prince Siddhartha's journey to enlightenment, depicted through lush flashbacks. It's a contemplative and richly textured narrative that bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary life, offering a unique spiritual adventure.
