Convert SMI to SRT — Korean Drama Subtitle Converter
SAMI (.smi) is the legacy subtitle format from Microsoft, still common for Korean drama subs. Modern players support SRT better. We extract the timed cues, decode HTML entities, drop clear-markers, and emit a clean SRT.

Frequently asked questions
My SMI file has Korean and English tracks. Which gets converted?
The first language track encountered (by Class attribute). To get the other, edit the SMI to remove the class you don't want, then re-convert.
Why does my Korean SMI look garbled?
Encoding issue. SMI files from older Korean tools are CP949 / EUC-KR, not UTF-8. Run the file through our UTF-8 Converter first.
